About Me

I am a supporter of free software and an everyday user of Linux systems. I am passionate about sharing knowledge and supporting others in IT development. I carry out my projects with attention to the quality of documentation and automation (although I don't always succeed :3), and I created this website myself using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP.

Right now i am working as IT enginner at SATCOM company, i used to work as IT admin for multiple companies. I always liked crappy old websites, that are focused much more on the content rather then on having the best graphical effects. This website was made with this in mind, hand made by me, a little more modern that i would like it to be, but still fully hand made with all the bugs and features of that :3. I have used linux for multiple years, mostly since 2015 when Microsoft released Windows 10, i had a short break during 2022, and gave a chance for Windows 11, and as you might imagine it was total disaster.

I am using linux as my main operating system for years. My main reason back in a day was ... wow ... it is so nerdy ... i am the cool one, but now enthusiasm has cooled of, and now i am using it because of ethical reasons, privacy reasons, having an open enviroment and other stuff. I started with ubuntu then tried different flavors of it, my favorite ubuntu flavor was Xubuntu that was running XFCE. After some time i started experimenting with other ones i was in a phase were i was using arch based distros then gentoo, i was using tilling windows managers living only in my terminal, customizing every dash and dot. Until at some point i realised there is no fun in that, i am optimising the process not the result and i should focus more on the work that i do on a operating system rather than then the os itself. So i moved away from using really diy distros into some good default distros. I have used MX linux for sometime, but lack of support for sleep on my laptop and updating ... meaning reinstalling my distro ... nah ... that did not work for me. So i choose to use Linux Mint good defaults, enough customizability, coherent ui and so on. I have been using it on all my computers ever since.

When it comes to some other stuff that I like doing. I love retro computers and retro games, I am a proud owner of commodore 64, i own a few older nintendo consoles. Nowadays i mostly play on emulators. My favorite platforms are Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS. I love older pokemon titles as well as mario and zelda games. If you look carefully you will be able to find my video game platform and video games tier list, here on my website. When in school i used to play tabletop RPG games with friends, and i still find them a very interesting hobby. I am not a big fun of the new AAA games, i am more of gem hunter and i look through all the titles and find some that look interesting, are well made and innovative. I think that corporate greed, broke video game market.

I also like DIY projects. Making my own piece of software that solves some special problem that i have, and hosting it on my own server, then documenting it on my wiki. I also did some scripts that were solving some issue i had at a time, or were a GUI wrapper to some command that i used frequently. I also made some devices from bottom up, like designing a circuit, simulating it, then making PCB for it, programming microcontroller etc. My favorite hardware platform is Arduino i have used it in a lot of projects, in my free time and also at work. I am also operating a meshtastic node, one of a few in my city, it is a very cool project that i engaged myself in some time ago. Right now i am interested in getting to know ESP32 platform and it's community and projects.

Most of my online presence focues around this website, blog and wiki. I do some occasional posts and involve myself in discussions on Reddit, but it is not that frequent. I used to have YT channel with some of my projects being in video form there, i scrapped the idea. I wanted to do youtube because it sounded so fun, but i realized that preparations for video, script writing, and then editing are taking sooo long (and yes money was involved a bit too, but not enough to make me stay on this platform). Nowadays i find text form much more fitting, if someone has questions or something needs more explaining i am more than happy to record a short explaination for you and post it on my Wiki or have a short chat with you on my XMPP server.
